The Priest's House - Το Σπίτι του Παπάς

The Priest's House was built over two hundred years ago on a hillside facing out to sea. The wise old Priest planted a Eucalyptus that has grown with the house and provides shade from the glorious Greek sun. He planted fruit trees in the garden so he wouldn't have to go far for his mulberries, figs and tangerines. Grapes hang ready for the picking from the upper veranda and, of course, the terraces are full of olive trees.

Today guests at the house can enjoy the quiet shade of the garden while also benefiting from the five bedrooms and 3 bathrooms

There is plenty of room inside for 10 to eat and sit

Of course you are more likely to want to sit outside and there is a great range of bright cool places:

Overlooking the sea

Dining under the traditional veranda

The House faces west so has great views  out to sea

Also in the this picture you can see the entrance to the Annex a large room separate from the main house.

There is also a large garden where you can escape with a good book and a cold glass of retsina.

The house has very thick stone walls so is both cool in summer and warm in winter. We lit a fire in late October and the  house had a whole different character

There are 4 good sized bedrooms in the main house all with new beds and mattresses, sheets blankets and counterpanes (2003). The Annex is probably the largest room and has two singles but there are enough beds to accommodate four children in there.

This is the main bathroom which has a clothes washing machine and hot water both from the roof solar panels and a electric water heater. There is a shower room and toliet on the floor above and outside there is a shower and toilet next to the annex
